Systematic review and Meta analysis

Systematic reviews and Meta analysis are increasingly used to establish the comparative effectiveness of health technologies, providing a reliable basis for health technology appraisal. Developing the statistical analysis of trial evidence, these methodologies are used to compare estimates of effectiveness across a range of treatments, and are most useful where direct randomized evidence between relevant comparators is limited or unavailable.

Oxford Outcomes has particular strength within network Meta analysis (also known as mixed- or multiple-treatment comparison) a powerful methodology that allows treatments to be compared based in the available network of direct and indirect trial evidence. Network meta analysis and systematic reviews are increasingly used to inform clinical decision-making and are recognized internationally as tools for treatment comparison. Their importance has been formally acknowledged by regulatory bodies; including NICE (UK), CADTH (Canada) and PBAC (Austraila) who have published technical reviews on these methodologies. Healthcare providers in the US and in major European markets are increasingly interested in these analyses.

Our Health Economics team is an international market leader in conducting systematic reviews and meta-analysis, and has a wealth of expertise in the critical review of results of clinical trials and observational studies. We have conducted reviews over a wide range of clinical areas, including psoriasis, diabetes, multiple sclerosis, drug eluting stents and asthma medications.
