Conceptual and endpoint models

Conceptual models increasingly underlie much PRO research. They are used to represent the relationship between disease symptoms, treatment and the experiences of a patient. Within PRO research, conceptual models provide a credible basis for developing new PRO measures and for developing endpoint models. They also provide a sound scientific foundation for economic modeling and more broadly for healthcare decision-making.
Endpoint models are an essential component of every FDA labeling claim and PRO evidence dossier. Both endpoint models and conceptual models are developed from literature review, interviews with patients and specialists, and input from clinical teams.
