Discrete choice experiments
Discrete choice experiments (DCEs), also known as conjoint analysis, are a well-suited technique for providing insights into how important different aspects of treatment (eg: effectiveness, tolerability, mode of administration) are to patients. These methods can also be used to explore and understand differences between patient sub-groups. DCEs are an accurate method for capturing what really drives patients or prescribers to select one treatment over another, and what they genuinely value.

Oxford Outcomes experienced team has substantial experience of designing and conducting DCEs that explore the drivers of patient and prescriber choice. Our team has experience of a range of DCE methods and has completed patient preference studies in a wide range of disease areas. For more about the team and their recent publications click here.
We work with a number of DCE methodologies and employ study designs that take account of objectives, budget and timelines, population characteristics, regulatory and marketing requirements. Our methods draw on the benefits of our broad experience as consultants, our focused approach to project management, as well as current scientific thinking.
