Translation and Linguistic Validation Team
Oxford Outcomes has been active in the field of Translation and Linguistic Validation of patient reported outcome (PRO) instruments and medical information for over a decade, making us one of the most experienced service providers in this field. The Translation and Linguistic Validation team, based in Oxford, is led by;
- Diane Wild, Director
- Gareth Ellis, Manager: PRO Linguistic Validation
- Robin Gordon-Stables, Manager: Medical Translations
Our management team are key contributors to international discussion of scientific methods, best practice guidance and regulation. Diane Wild led the recent ISPOR Task Force on Translation and Linguistic Validation, which in turn has been influential in the development of FDA guidance.
Our in-house team of project managers combines expertise in translation processes and quality control with in-depth understanding of PRO research, clinical trial design and the regulatory environment. Their connections within Oxford Outcomes, with the PRO and Health Economics teams, put them in a strong position to make the important translation and equivalency decisions that the translation and linguistic process requires. In addition their careful and rigorous management of translator, clinician, editor and proof-reader inputs maintains the very highest standards for our work.
With the inputs of our in-house PRO, Health Economics, and Epidemiology teams - as well as our clinical networks - we ensure that sometimes complex quality of life (QoL), treatment satisfaction, econometric and other “health value” concepts are being accurately and effectively translated.
